Not all
insects need to be killed
Before
setting out to control every six-legged critter in your landscape, take
some time to identify what needs to be controlled.
Trees and
power lines
Planting a tree that
genetically is designed to grow to sixty feet in height underneath a
power line that is twenty feet off the ground does not make sense to me.
Try
container-grown annuals to brighten bare spots in landscape
There are
areas in most landscapes where it is not practical or possible to bring
in the tiller and create a flowerbed. But that doesn’t mean you can’t

products. Fertilizing too soon can cause more problems than it solves.

Beware of wonder grasses
“If it sounds too good to be true, it
probably is.” This phrase offers sound advice for the person looking for
that “perfect” lawngrass.

dinner table
Timing is important when planting your vegetable
garden
There are several things that contribute to
a successful vegetable garden in north Florida but perhaps none is more
important than timing.

Snap beans are not all created equal
Last fall I did not include snap beans in my vegetable garden. I have
always enjoyed the bush beans we grow, but not enough to sacrifice
precious garden space for them among my other fall crops.
