North Light Yacht Club fuses full-service marina with waterfront resort for an unrivaled boating experience

It’s the perfect day. There’s not a cloud in the sky, the wind is blowing and the sunlight glistens on Choctawhatchee Bay. You call ahead, and your boat and picnic lunch are waiting for you at the marina. You explore the bay and troll for fish in the Gulf of Mexico. After a full day on the water, you head back to the marina and step off your boat. While it’s being cleaned and stored, you take a dip in the outdoor pool before relaxing in the dry sauna. You enjoy a cocktail on the covered porch while watching the sun go down and then dine marina-side at a first-class restaurant.

Life on the water has never been this good.

At the Emerald Coast’s newest yacht club, North Light, you can make the most of your boating lifestyle every day of the week. Located on 734 feet of waterfront along Choctawhatchee Bay in Niceville, North Light Yacht Club is only minutes away by boat to Destin Pass and the Gulf of Mexico. Currently in its first phase, the North Light Yacht Club is scheduled to be complete by early 2009.

"North Light Yacht Club provides boat owners with an all-inclusive boating experience," said Joe Winkeler, owner and developer of the project. "There are many marinas in this area, but our goal was to create a resort setting with a focus on service. We thought of everything a boat owner might need or want for the ultimate experience, and then designed North Light Yacht Club to give our members and their families the highest level of service and amenities imaginable."

Full-Service Marina and Secure Storage
North Light Yacht Club will feature 280 dry slips 30 to 35 feet in length in a "boathouse condominium." The boathouse condominium is designed for secure storage — engineered and constructed to withstand 140 mph winds. Dry storage is available by simple fee and a lease contract, and all boats are inserted and removed from the dry slips at the request and convenience of the boat owner.

The marina will provide full-service attendants, a concierge, wholesale fuel and provisioning and launching services. Wet slips are also available for club members, with several slips allotted to the public. North Light will create arrangements for members to access quality maintenance and service for their boat’s needs. The club will also partner with several reputable boat brokers for members who would like to purchase a boat.

Elegant-Casual Clubhouse a Haven for Members
The 12,000 square foot clubhouse provides members with a family-friendly social environment and will be professionally managed to ensure first-class service. The two-story building features large windows and covered porches to take advantage of the waterfront views. Anchoring the building is a lighthouse which gives North Light Yacht Club its name. The interior décor will be a combination of considered architecture and high-end, casual interiors and appointments to make guests feel at home in an elegant, relaxed setting.

Outside the clubhouse is an outdoor spa and pool, which will be heated for members’ enjoyment all year round. A full bar is offered at the pool. The clubhouse also features a first-rate fitness center with superior exercise equipment, dry sauna, wet steam and complete locker facilities. A ship’s store includes a deli and retail items for members.

North Light Yacht Club’s restaurant offers excellent food with impeccable service. Members can enjoy lunch and dinner inside the dining room or outside on the waterfront patio. The restaurant provides fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere — perfect for an evening for two or for the whole family. Full bar service is available in the dining room.

Members can enjoy organized events throughout the year, and children can belong to their own kid’s club for fun activities. The club will also be available for social events and houses a private conference area for businesses.

Flexible Memberships
Dry slip memberships, social memberships and corporate memberships are available at North Light Yacht Club. North Light Yacht Club members will have reciprocal use of other clubs in the area.

Convenient, Protected Location
North Light Yacht Club is situated on the calm waters of Boggy Bayou, conveniently located at the intersection of Highway 85 and Highway 20 in Niceville, Fla. It is a short boat ride to the Gulf of Mexico and only a 15 to 30 minute drive from the major resorts of Walton County and direct access to I-10.
