Campbell to chair county commission in 2008

OKALOOSA COUNTY, FLORIDA - Okaloosa County Commissioner James Campbell, of Niceville, will serve as Chair of the Okaloosa County Board of Commissioners in 2008. County Commissioner Bill Roberts, of Fort Walton Beach, will serve as Vice-Chair.

“I have great confidence in their ability to carry Okaloosa County forward,” said Don Amunds, current Commission Chair.

Campbell, who served as Vice-Chair in 2007, represents District 5, which includes most of the Niceville and Bluewater Bay area. Campbell was selected for the 2007-08 Edition of Who’s Who in the national Heritage Registry for his service to local government.
Roberts is a native of the Okaloosa County, and he serves District 3, which includes Valparaiso and part of Niceville. Roberts also has a history of public service, as a past councilman and mayor of Fort Walton Beach.

Campbell and Roberts will assume their new roles at the first Board meeting in January.
