Orange Fest to be held in Niceville October 31

NICEVILLE, FLORIDA - Get ready for the fun and games to begin! First Baptist Church of Niceville and First United Methodist Church of Niceville are hosting the third annual Orange Fest on October 31, 2007 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

Orange Fest is a wildly popular Halloween alternative sponsored by several Niceville and Valparaiso area churches. It is open to all families of all faiths. Admission and all activities are free of charge.

Last year more than 5000 people – some in costume, some not -- participated in the dozens of activities, which this year will include trunk or treat, inflatables, live bands, hayrides, drama presentations, a pumpkin patch, carnival games, face painting, prizes and much more.

Orange Fest is located on both church campuses located on Partin Drive south of John Sims Parkway. To accommodate the huge event, Partin Drive will be closed between John Sims Parkway and Bayshore Drive.

Parking will be available at the back First United Methodist Church parking lot, the back First Baptist Church parking lot, Bank of America and Ruckel Middle School. Trolley services will be provided from the Ruckel Middle School parking lot. Trolleys loop every eight minutes. There is no charge for the trolley service.

Live concerts will feature praise bands and talent on stage in front of both churches. Puppets will perform in the gathering area outside the sanctuary at First Baptist Church and in front of the Community Life Center. Be captivated by dramatic presentations for all ages located at several places throughout the Orange Fest area.

During trunk or treat, children collect candy from the trunks of cars lining Partin Drive and the First United Methodist Church parking lot. Free candy bags are available. Inflatables include giant slides, obstacle course and more. Look for inflatables for younger children in front of the Community Life Center.

Various free carnival games can be found in front of the Community Life Center and in front of First Baptist Church. A public service display will include police, fire and emergency medical vehicles.
