Terry Rel Tislow
1936-2007

Terry Rel Tislow of Niceville went to be with his personal Savior, Redeemer and friend Oct. 12, 2007.

Mr. Tislow was born March 26, 1936, to Vonnie Tislow in Petersburg, Ind. He moved to Muncie, Ind., as a young boy and lived there until he joined the Air Force in 1954.

He retired from the Air Force in 1975 to complete his college degree at William Carey College in Hattiesburg, Miss. Upon his college graduation, he joined Civil Service, working as a systems analyst at the 20th Space Surveillance Squadron, Eglin Air Force Base. He retired from Civil Service in 1999.

Mr. Tislow was preceded in death by his mother, Vonnie Tislow, and a brother, Jimmie Edwards Tislow. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Becky; a daughter, Carrie Jennings and husband Brent of Cumming, Ga.; a son, James Tislow and wife Jennifer of Pace, and five grandchildren, Allison Leigh, Nicole Brianna and Alexander Riley Tislow of Pace and Brooks Jackson and Avery Elizabeth Jennings of Cumming.

He also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Sammy Harvey of Huffman, Texas; a niece, Angie Amyx and husband Rex of Pasadena, Texas; nephew, Doug Harvey and wife Shawnda of The Woodlands, Texas, and nephew, Scott Harvey and wife Andrea of Huffman, Texas, as well as seven greatnieces and nephews.
    
Mr. Tislow was elected to the Niceville City Council in 1981 and served with character and honor until his death. He was a faithful and devoted member of the Niceville First United Methodist Church for more than 31 years.

A time of visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home of Niceville. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at the Niceville First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Rurel R. Ausley Jr. and Edward Chandler officiating.
   
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in his memory to the Niceville First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
