Niceville-Valparaiso Christmas Parade to follow revised route
NICEVILLE, FLORIDA - The 42nd annual Niceville-Valparaiso Community
Christmas Parade will follow a revised parade route this year
because of the John Sims Parkway road improvement project underway
in the city,
organizers have announced. The parade will
avoid the construction area by beginning and ending in Niceville.
The parade will begin at the intersection of John Sims Parkway and
Palm Boulevard, march west to Partin Drive, turn north on Partin and
continue beyond the Niceville Children’s Park and Ruckel Middle
School.
The location of the judging stand will be announced during the
November 29 participants meeting at the Niceville City Hall.
In recent years the parade route has been from the intersection of
John Sims Parkway and Bayshore Drive to Chicago Avenue in
Valparaiso. For many years before that the parade began at the Palm
Plaza and ended at Chicago Ave.
The 42nd annual Niceville-Valparaiso Community Christmas Parade,
sponsored by the Niceville-Valparaiso Rotary Club, will be held
Saturday, December 1, beginning at 10 a.m. The theme of this year’s
parade is “Star Spangled Christmas.”
