Niceville High School sports on radio and Internet

Fans of Niceville High School sports will be able to hear selected games each week during the next school year on local radio and the Internet. This month, broadcasts are set to include the Spring Football Jamboree on May 11, and all NHS baseball postseason games.

Arty Goodman, of WFSH Radio 1340 AM, a sports station based in Destin, said the station intends to carry such NHS sports as football, volleyball, baseball, softball, and boys and girls basketball.

"We’ll carry at least one game each week and sometimes as many as two or three games," said Goodman, who plans to do the play-by-play himself.

He said the station intends to air as many girls’ games as boys.

In addition to being aired on WFSH, Goodman said the games can be heard live over the Internet. Just click on the front page link at niceville.com at game time for the station’s Web site and the live streaming broadcasts.

WFSH was located in Niceville for more than 40 years and was known as "FISH Radio." Goodman says his goal is to return local coverage to the Niceville area and establish the station as, "The all new FISH Radio AM 1340, Niceville’s Hometown Radio."
