Could your BBQ recipe make history? Then come out and enter Boggy’s Best BBQ Contest to benefit the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida on Saturday, September 1 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Heritage Museum and Perrine Park in Valparaiso.

Sponsored by Dyncorp International, Classic Catering and Special Occasions of Fort Walton Beach, the event will pit amateur and professional teams against one another for the grand prize. Special guest judges will present cash awards including $1,000 for best overall BBQ, $250 for most unique BBQ and $250 for best booth theme.

The public is invited to come taste the entries and judge for themselves. General event admission will be $15 for adults and $7 for children and includes BBQ and two side dishes. There will also be soda and beer booths, craft booths and live music. Raffle items will include a two-night/three-day stay for two at the Ramada Plaza Beach Resort on the Gulf in Fort Walton Beach.
