September 2007 Season tickets now available for 11th season of Broadway's best Season tickets for the 11th season of Broadway’s best touring shows at the Mattie Kelly Fine and Performing Arts Center at Okaloosa-Walton College are available starting August 27. The arts complex in Niceville hosts national tours of top-name shows, visiting artists, art exhibits, college productions and is the home venue of the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra (NFSO) at OWC. Broadway and Artist shows and NFSO concerts all appear in the Mattie Kelly Arts Center’s 1,650 seat main-stage theater. Season tickets for the symphony are also now available. Season ticket patrons enjoy priority selection of seating and a discount over single ticket prices. Broadway season packages are available until October 10. Symphony season packages are available until October 27. To provide patrons with personal service, all season packages are available from the box office by phone at (850) 729-6000 or in-person. On-line tickets for individual shows are available starting September 10 through the center’s website, by phone or in-person from the box office. Winner of seven Tony Awards, "Evita" appears October 10, 2007 as the first show of the Broadway season. This nationally touring show brings to life the dynamic, larger-than-life persona of Eva Peron, who captivated a nation by championing the Argentine working class. The exuberant production features Andrew Lloyd Webber’s compelling Latin, pop and jazz influenced score. "Gran Folklorico de Mexico" appears November 1, 2007 with a beautifully costumed folk-dance company who travel world-wide presenting dances and music unique to each region of Mexico. This colorful, rhythmic show features a swirl of authentic Mexican costumes with Mariachi, Marimba and Jorocho bands providing a panorama of Mexican dance and song. Boasting class, sass and style; "3 Mo’ Divas" comes to the Mattie Kelly Arts Center on November 10, 2007 with a theatrically staged concert performed by some of the most phenomenal talent the world has to offer. With music ranging from Bach to Beyonce’, the show features Opera, Broadway, Jazz, Blues, Soul, R&B, Spirituals, and Gospel in a spectacular concert for the entire family. Exhilarating, exuberant, exhausting and utterly unique; "STOMP" is the only two-night event of the OWC Mattie Kelly Arts Center season and will appear December 11 and 12, 2007. The international percussion sensation presents an innovative show for all ages with an eight-member troupe who use everything from matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans and Zippo lighters to hubcaps – to fill the stage with magnificent rhythms. Don’t miss a living, breathing, American masterpiece when veteran actor Hal Holbrook appears in a one-man show as "Mark Twain Tonight" on January 9, 2008. One of the most acclaimed and enduring performances in the history of theater, Holbrook’s characterization of the great novelist and raconteur has been hailed by critics across the nation as "very politically incorrect and very, very funny." The phenomenal family favorite "Annie" appears on January 30, 2008. The timeless tale of Little Orphan Annie boasts one of Broadway’s most memorable scores and is a delightful theatrical experience for the entire family. The national tour of "Annie" at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center features a special ticket price for youth age 18 and under. The music of the Man in Black will ignite the stage in the new tour of the Broadway musical "Ring of Fire" on February 1, 2008. Featuring 38 signature songs from the legendary Johnny Cash, the show will have you stomping your feet as it celebrates the world’s most famous rebel with hits such as "Walk the Line", "I’ve Been Everywhere", "Folsom Prison Blues," and the title track "Ring of Fire". Experience the biggest Tony Award winner in Broadway history with the Mel Brooks musical comedy "The Producers" on February 20, 2008. Called "the funniest, most fearlessly irreverent thing ever seen on stage" by USA Today, the show is an extravaganza of quick wit and one show-stopping musical number after another. Five-time Grammy winner Billy Joel helped create the spectacular Broadway musical "Movin’ Out" that appears February 25, 2008. The show weaves 24 Billy Joel rock classics like "It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me" and "We Didn’t Start the Fire" together into a performance the Buffalo News called "Flat out brilliant. Who will it appeal to? Anyone who loves Joel’s albums. Ditto for those who love dance. While, I’m at it, let’s include anyone with a pulse!"
