The Okaloosa-Walton College Fine and Performing Arts Division offers private lessons in a variety of musical instruments and in voice. Lessons are open to both OWC students and to members of the public age 13 to adult. From applied voice to oboe, violin, cello, percussion, guitar, bass guitar, flute, saxophone and oboe; OWC is the perfect place to either begin to learn a musical skill or to improve one’s musical talents. The highly qualified OWC instructors all offer flexible schedules for the private music lessons. Most applied music lessons are weekly 30-minute sessions that meet for the entire 16-week fall semester for an average of $113 in OWC tuition and fees. Registration by Web begins July 16 for returning OWC students and July 23 for new students. In-person enrollment is accepted at all six OWC locations starting June 30. Registration continues through August 20, space permitting. All lessons are held at the OWC Niceville campus at the Mattie Kelly Fine and Performing Arts Center. Students age 13 and 14 may enroll on an audit status and do not receive college-credit. High school age students 15 and older may enroll on a concurrent status and opt to receive college credit. Individuals out of high school may enroll to earn one-hour of college credit or enroll as a non-degree seeking student. OWC pleased to announce the addition of three new applied music instructors for the fall term. Chun-Hsin Chang, applied instructor for violin and cello, will be joining OWC from the University of Texas at Austin.
